Idle Speed Control System

  1. To adjust idle speed control system, start engine and allow to idle until coolant temperature reaches 185-205°F (85-96°C). Turn all lights and accessories off and place transmission in neutral. Electric cooling fan must be off during adjustment.
  2. Check curb idle speed and adjust if necessary. Turn A/C system on. Adjust engine speed to 1000-1100 RPM by turning adjusting screw on idle speed control system solenoid valve. See Figure .
