Valve Relay

  1. Remove valve relay from hydraulic unit. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between terminals No. 85 and 86. See Figure .
  2. Resistance should be 60-120 ohms. Check for continuity between terminals No. 30 and 87a. Continuity should be present with approximately zero ohms. Check for continuity between terminals No. 30 and 87. Continuity should not be present.
  3. Apply battery voltage to terminals No. 85 and 86. Check for continuity between terminals No. 30 and 87a. Continuity should not be present. Check for continuity between terminals No. 30 and 87. Continuity should be present with approximately zero ohms. If DVOM readings are not to specification, replace valve relay.
