Ignition Timing: Precis

  1. Connect tachometer and timing light to engine. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure transaxle is in Neutral, and all accessories and cooling fan are off.
  2. At high altitudes, disconnect and plug distributor vacuum hoses. Start engine and check ignition timing at idle. If incorrect, loosen distributor nut and adjust ignition timing.
