EGR System
The EGR system is used to recirculate a metered amount of exhaust gases into the intake manifold below the carburetor. The exhaust gases reduce combustion chamber temperature which reduces Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) in the exhaust system. The EGR flow is controlled by an EGR control valve, a Vacuum Regulator Valve (VRV) and a thermovalve. See Fig 1 .
