Keyless Control Unit Test

NOTE: If after all testing procedures are completed system is not functioning properly, substitute keyless control unit with known good unit and retest.

Disconnect keyless control unit harness connector. On Colt Vista, Expo LRV and Summit Wagon, keyless control unit is located behind left quarter panel, above wheelwell. On Expo, keyless control unit is located behind right quarter panel, above wheelwell. Using DVOM, measure voltage between selected terminal and vehicle ground. See KEYLESS CONTROL UNIT VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS  . See Fig 1 . If voltage is not within specification, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.

6 (Brown/Blue) Door Lock Actuator (Left Side) Lock-5 Volts (Pulse Output) (1) , Unlocked: 0 Volts
9 (Blue) Control Unit Power Supply (Switched) Battery Voltage W/Ignition Switch In ACC Position
10 (Red/Yellow) Control Unit Power Supply (Constant) Battery Voltage
11 (Red) Dome Light Battery Voltage W/Dome Light Sw. In ON Position
12 (Black/Blue) Door Lock Relays 1 & 2 0 Volts Actuated, Battery Voltage When Not Actuated
13 (Black/Green) Door Lock Relays 1 & 2 0 Volts Actuated, Battery Voltage When Not Actuated
14 (Red/Green) Door Lock Relay 2 0 Volts Actuated, Battery Voltage When Not Actuated
20 (Black) Ground 0 Volts
