Code P1500: Generator Fr Terminal Circuit Fault
NOTE:
For component terminal identification, see TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
in this article. For appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
section.
- With generator field connector connected. Measure voltage between field connector terminal No. 4 (Green wire) and ground. Start engine. Ensure radiator fan is off. Voltage should be 1.8-2.4 volts (headlights off) and 1.0-1.6 volts (headlights on). If voltage is not within specification, go to next step. If voltage is within specification, replace PCM.
- Disconnect generator field connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between field connector terminal No. 4 (Green wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, check field connector, and wiring harness between PCM and field connector. If connector and wiring is okay, replace generator.
- If battery voltage does not exist, check PCM connector, junction connector and wiring harness between PCM and field connector. If wiring and connectors are okay, replace PCM.
