Activating/Deactivating Hazard Answerback Function

  1. Ensure key is removed from ignition. While pressing UNLOCK switch for 4-10 seconds, push LOCK button on transmitter. Go to next step.
  2. To activate or deactivate hazard answerback function customization feature when doors are unlocked, go to next step. To activate or deactivate hazard answerback function customization feature when doors are locked, release LOCK button then UNLOCK button on transmitter. ETACS-ECU will sound indicating that it is ready to be switched. Push LOCK button on transmitter again to activate or deactivate hazard answerback function. If ETACS-ECU sounds once when LOCK button is pushed, hazard answerback function is enabled. If ETACS-ECU sounds 2 times when LOCK button is pushed, hazard answerback function is disabled.
  3. To activate or deactivate hazard answerback function customization feature when doors are unlocked, release UNLOCK button then LOCK button on transmitter. ETACS-ECU will sound indicating that it is ready to be switched. Push UNLOCK button on transmitter again to activate or deactivate hazard answerback function. If ETACS-ECU sounds once when UNLOCK button is pushed, hazard answerback function is enabled. If ETACS-ECU sounds 2 times when UNLOCK button is pushed, hazard answerback function is disabled.
  4. To exit hazard answerback function customization feature, turn ignition switch to position other than LOCK or open driver's door. If system remains inactive for at least 3 minutes after ETACS-ECU has entered customize mode, hazard answerback function customization feature will cancel automatically.
