Diagnostic Trouble Code Check When Scan Tool Is Used
Connect the scan tool to the data link connector then check diagnostic trouble codes.
CAUTION:
Make certain that the ignition switch is OFF when the scan tool is connected or disconnected.
NOTE:
If the ignition switch is ON with the scan tool connected, some of the warning lights will flash. This is because the data link connector terminal 1 is grounded and diagnostic output via warning lamp will operate. This is not an abnormal condition.
