Key Id Registration

- Obtain immobilizer-ECU password from customer. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool (MB991502) to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Select IMMOBILIZER from SYSTEM SELECT MENU, then select SPECIAL FUNC option. Select KEY ID REGISTER to begin registration. If "CAN'T EXECUTE" is displayed, check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), repair as necessary.
- Input password, use scan tool UP and DOWN keys to change current password digit, LEFT and RIGHT keys change selected digit. Press YES key to accept password and start KEY ID REGISTRATION.
- Scan tool will display COMPLETED when key id registration is successful. To input additional keys: replace ignition key with next key to be registered within 5 seconds, then press YES key on scan tool. Repeat process until all keys are registered up to maximum of 8.
- When finished inputting key codes, turn ignition switch to LOCK position for at least 10 seconds. Check that engine can be started with each of the ignition keys.
