Park/Neutral Position Switch (Automatic Transmission)

NOTE: Transmission range switch body can be aligned by inserting a 0.02" (5 mm) diameter steel bar into end hole of manual control lever and flange hole of transmission range switch body.
  1. Set transmission into Neutral position. Loosen control cable to manual control lever coupling nut to free cable and lever. See Fig 1-Fig 4 . Ensure park/neutral position switch is set to neutral position.
  2. Loosen park/neutral position switch body mounting bolts and turn park/neutral position switch body so hole in end of manual control lever and hole (cross section A-A in figure) in flange of park/neutral position switch body flange are aligned. See Fig 6 and Fig 7 . Tighten park/neutral position switch body mounting bolts.
  3. Be careful at this time that position of switch body is not changed. Gently pull transaxle control cable in direction of arrow, and then tighten adjusting nut. Check that selector lever is in Neutral position. Check that each range on transaxle side operates and functions correctly for each position of selector lever.
