Strut Assembly: Reassembly

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: DO NOT use an impact wrench to tighten the bolt of Spring Compressor (MB991237).
  1. Install lower spring pad. See Figure .
  2. Install coil spring.
  3. Install bumper rubber.
  4. Install upper spring pad.
  5. Install upper spring seat.
  6. Install bearing.
  7. Install strut insulator assembly.
  8. Ensure that the bearing is seated correctly. Install Spring Compressor (MB991237) to the strut assembly. While the coil spring is being compressed, temporarily tighten the self-locking nut.
  9. NOTE: Using a pipe as shown facilitates the alignment. See Fig 1 .
  10. Align the hole in the strut assembly lower spring seat with the hole in the upper spring seat. See Fig 1 .
  11. Using Wrench (MB991681) and Socket (MB991682), tighten the self-locking nut to specification. See Figure . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
