Fuel Level Sensor Replacement < AWD >

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly (Refer to REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ).
  2. Fuel pump connector disconnection (Refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE ).
  3. Remove the service hole cover mounting screws and remove the service hole cover.

  4. Disconnect the fuel level sensor assembly harness connector and fuel suction tube.

    CAUTION: Pay attention not to damage the sensor unit and the float of the fuel level sensor assembly when withdrawing it from the service hole.
  5. Remove the fuel level sensor assembly mounting nuts and remove the fuel level sensor assembly from service hole.

  6. Check the fuel level sensor assembly (Refer to FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CHECK < AWD > ).
    NOTE: If the standard resistance value or height of the float are out of standard value, replace the fuel level sensor assembly with a new one.
    CAUTION: Pay attention not to damage the sensor unit and the float of the fuel level sensor assembly when inserting it from the service hole.
  7. Install the fuel level sensor assembly to the fuel tank through the service hole, and tighten the mounting nuts to the specified torque.

    Tightening torque: 2.5 +/- 0.4 N.m (22 +/- 4 in-lb)

  8. Connect the fuel level sensor assembly harness connector and fuel suction tube.

  9. Tighten the service hole cover mounting screws and install the service hole cover.
  10. Install the rear seat cushion assembly (Refer to REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY ).
