Key Interlock Mechanism Check

  1. Carry out the following check.
    Inspection procedure Inspection conditions Items to be checked (Normal conditions)
    1 Brake pedal: Depressed Electric motor switch position: LOCK (OFF) The selector lever cannot be moved out of P position.
    2 Electric motor switch position: Other than LOCK (OFF) The selector lever can be moved from P position to other positions smoothly.
    3 Selector lever position: Other than P Electric motor switch cannot be turned to LOCK (OFF) position.
    4 Selector lever position: P Electric motor switch can be smoothly turned to LOCK (OFF) position.
  2. When there is a problem with above operation, remove and reassemble the key interlock cable (selector lever side). (Refer to KEY INTERLOCK AND SHIFT LOCK MECHANISM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
  3. After the assembly, perform the operation check again. If there is a problem, replace the key interlock cable. (Refer to KEY INTERLOCK AND SHIFT LOCK MECHANISM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
