Shift Position Switch Adjustment

Required Special Tool: 

  1. Set the selector lever to the N (neutral) position.
  2. Set the control lever to the N (neutral) position.
  3. Loosen the shift position switch mounting bolts and turn the shift position switch so the hole in the control lever and the hole (cross section A-A in the illustration on the left) in the shift position switch are aligned.
  4. The shift position switch can be aligned by inserting the special tool (MD999576: Transmission range switch adjusting gauge) into the hole in the control lever and the hole in the shift position switch.
  5. Tighten the shift position switch mounting bolts to the specified torque. Be careful at this time that the switch does not move.

    Tightening torque: 11 ± 1 N.m (97 ± 8 in-lb) 

  6. Check that the special tool (MD999576: Transmission range switch adjusting gauge) can be inserted into and pulled out from the holes in the control lever and the shift position switch smoothly.

    If it cannot be done smoothly, return to step  3.

  7. Check the shift position service data. (Refer to SERVICE DATA REFERENCE TABLE .
