Transaxle Fluid Level Inspection

  1. As shown in the figure below, create an L-shaped fluid level inspection tool.

  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Remove the bolts and clips, and remove the engine compartment under cover front B

  4. Remove the filler plug and gasket.

  5. Insert the fluid level inspection tool into the filler plug hole and inspect to see if any fluid gets on the end of the tool.
    NOTE: The fluid level is lower than the lower edge of the filler plug hole.

  6. Check that the fluid is not excessively foul and has moderate viscosity.
  7. If no fluid gets onto the end of the tool and there is not enough fluid, refill the fluid.

    Refer to On-vehicle Service, Replacement of the Transaxle Fluid (Refer to TRANSAXLE FLUID CHANGE ).

  8. Install the filler plug and new gasket, and tighten to the specified torque.

    Tightening torque: 32 ± 2 N.m (24 ± 1 ft-lb)
