Exhaust Gas Sensor Test (Code 33)

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Disconnect 20-pin connector from control unit. Disconnect exhaust gas sensor harness connector. Connect terminal for sensor to ground with a jumper wire.
  2. Check for continuity between terminal 4 of 20-pin connector and ground metal on car. See Figure . If continuity exists, replace exhaust gas sensor. If still no good, replace control unit. If continuity did not exist, replace or repair harness.
