Auxiliary Air Control Valve

  1. Disconnect 20-pin connector. Check voltage between terminal 2 and ground when ignition is on. See Figure . If battery voltage is present, test is complete. If not present, check harness and repair if necessary. If okay, check fuel pump relay.

  2. Check for continuity between terminals 1-2 and 3-4. There should be continuity at 1-2 and no continuity at 3-4. Apply 12 volts to terminals 1-2. There now should be continuity between terminals 3-4. See Figure . If no good, replace relay. If okay, go to next step.
  3. Check AAC valve for continuity between terminal and ground. Continuity should exist. If there is no continuity, replace AAC valve.
