Fuel Pressure Check

WARNING: Constant fuel pressure is maintained in fuel lines and component parts at all times. Relieve pressure before attempting to open system for testing. Do not allow fuel to flow onto engine or electrical parts or allow an open flame in area while testing fuel system components.
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. On Pathfinder, Pickup, Sentra and Van, disconnect fuel inlet hose at fuel injection body. On all other models, disconnect fuel hose on fuel filter inlet side. On Maxima and 300ZX, connect a vacuum pump to fuel pressure regulator. On all models, install fuel pressure gauge.
  2. Start engine and check fuel line connections for leakage. Check fuel pressure with engine idling. Record fuel pressure gauge reading. On Maxima, Stanza, Stanza Wagon and 300ZX, quickly depress and release accelerator pedal. Record fuel pressure gauge reading. See NISSAN FUEL PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table.
