SERVICE INFORMATION

If the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is "ON", and a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) P0136 (rear heated oxygen sensor) is found stored in ECM memory, use the following procedure to repair the vehicle.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Perform the checks outlined in the service manual EC section for this DTC.
If no problem is found with the rear heated oxygen sensor circuit, replace the sensor with the appropriate countermeasure part listed below.
Erase the DTC.
Confirm operation of the new rear heated oxygen sensor using OVERALL FUNCTION CHECK in the service manual.
