Ambient Air Temperature Sensor

Ambient air temperature sensor is located in air cleaner box. Sensor monitors temperature of incoming air. Sensor is a thermistor and increases (cold) or decreases (hot) its resistance in response to temperature changes. Ambient air temperature sensor controls ignition timing when intake air temperature is extremely high to prevent engine knock (detonation).
