Scan tool should indicate switch status LOCK SW DR/AS ON with door lock/unlock switch turned to LOCK position and UNLK SW DR/AS ON with door lock/unlock switch turned to UNLOCK position. If status is not as specified, go to next step. If status is as specified, switch is okay.

Turn ignition off. Disconnect Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) harness connector. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 23 (Gray wire) at SECU harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Continuity should exist when door lock/unlock switch is in LOCK position and not exist when switch is in NEUTRAL/UNLOCK position. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, go to step  4 .
  3. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 35 (Purple/Red wire) at SECU harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Continuity should exist when door lock/unlock switch is in UNLOCK position and not exist when switch is in NEUTRAL/LOCK. If continuity is as specified, door lock/unlock switches are okay. If continuity is not as specified, go to next step.
  4. Check Door Lock/Unlock Switch

Disconnect door lock/unlock switch harness connectors. Check for continuity between specified switch terminals while operating switch. Ensure continuity is as specified. See DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH TEST  table. Replace switch if continuity is not as specified. If continuity is as specified, check switch ground circuit (Black wire). Check for open or short between switch and SECU. Repair as necessary.
