July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM and instrument cluster harness connectors. See Figure or Figure . Check continuity of Green/Black wire between instrument cluster harness connector terminal No. 2 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 29. See Figure and Fig 1 . Also, check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. If problem is found, repair as necessary. If problem is not found, go to next step.
  2. Check speedometer operation. If speedometer operates properly, go to next step. If speedometer does not operate properly, check VSS and circuits between VSS and instrument cluster. Repair as necessary.
  3. No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
