Final Check Using Consult

  1. After system is repaired, connect both battery cables. Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Press START button on CONSULT tester. Select AIR BAG. Select SELF-DIAG (CURRENT). If no fault message is present, repair is complete. Go to next step. If fault message is present, problem has not been repaired or another problem is present. Go to PRESENT FAULT MESSAGES  . Complete required repair.
  2. Press ERASE on CONSULT. Press BACK button until SELECT DIAG MODE appears. Press SELF-DIAG (PAST). Ensure no fault message is present. Press BACK button until SELECT SYSTEM appears. This returns system to USER mode from DIAGNOSIS mode. Turn off CONSULT and disconnect from DLC. Turn ignition off. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
