CONTROL DESCRIPTION
- The drive mode selector switches a vehicle mode with the flick of a switch (drive mode select switch) mounted on upper part of the center console and changes the control characteristics of the power train, combination meter, chassis function, driver assistant system, 4WD function.
- When the ignition switch is ON from the OFF state, the drive mode select switch starts in AUTO mode regardless of drive mode during ignition switch ON.
- The vehicle characteristics are controlled from the AUTO mode to any mode listed below:
SAND This mode allows for easier driving or starting on sand. MUD/RUT This mode allows for easier driving or starting on a bumpy road surface such as an uneven dirt road or a steep uphill slope. SNOW This mode makes it easier to start and run from snowy roads and frozen roads. ECO Assists the driver's eco-driving. The engine points are adjusted for improved fuel economy, providing such a driving features as smooth starting or constant cruising. SPORT - Adjusts the engine points for a higher response.
- The setting of the steering system is adjusted to moderately increase steering wheel effort for a sporty feel.
TOW The mode controls the shifting points to facilitate the acceleration and deceleration while towing. - For relationship between drive mode and each control item, refer to the following table.
