Control Assembly: Service and Repair

LESS A/C

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove instrument panel face plate.
3. Remove 4 screws securing control assembly, then withdraw control.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors and control cables, then remove control assembly, remove blower switch if nessary.
5. Reverse procedure to install.




WITH A/C



CUTLASS CALAIS, GRAND AM, SOMERSET REGAL & SKYLARK

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove lower steering column trim and collar.
3. Remove center trim attaching screws, then the center trim.
4. Remove instrument panel compartment insert.
5. Remove right and lower instrument panel trim plates.
6. Remove control assembly attaching screws, then draw assembly outward to provide enough clearance to disconnect vacuum lines and electrical connectors from control assembly.
7. Remove control assembly from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
