Ignition System

The ECM induces primary voltage in the coil when the teeth on the timing core align with the teeth on the pole piece. As the timing core teeth pass out of the pole piece field, the primary voltage collapses, inducing the secondary voltage in the coil. The secondary voltage is discharged to the rotor which distributes it to the appropriate terminal. The distributor module may have 3 different terminal arrangements depending on application.
