Entering ECM Data Parameters Display

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood and 1990 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With ".7.0" displayed on the FDC, (to cause ".7.0" to be displayed on the FDC, see INTRODUCTION TO DIAGNOSTIC TESTING  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTING), depress and release the LO button on the ECC panel. This will switch display from ".7.0" to "E.9.0", signaling the start of the ECM data parameters display. Data parameter displays are prefixed with the letter "P".
  2. To advance system to a higher numbered data parameters display, depress the HI button on the ECC panel. To return to a lower numbered data parameters display, depress the LO button on the ECC panel. For complete list of data parameter displays, see ECM DATA PARAMETERS table.
ECM DATA PARAMETERS

Display Parameter Range
P.0.1 TPS actual angle -9° to 90°
P.0.2 MAP 14-108 kPa
P.0.3 BARO (1) 60-102 kPa
P.0.4 Coolant Temp. -40° to 151°C
P.0.5 MAT 40° to 151°C
P.0.6 Spark Advance 0-90 degrees
P.0.7 Battery Voltage 0-25.6 volts
P.0.8 Engine Speed 0-6370 RPM
P.0.9 Vehicle Speed 0-255 MPH
P.1.2 Injector Pulse Width 0-99.6 mS
P.1.4 O2 Sensor Voltage 0-99 volts
P.1.6 O2 Sensor Cross Counts (2) 0-1
P.1.8 Integrator (3) 20-255
P.2.0 Block Learn (4) 0-255
P.2.1 Cruise Feedback (5) 20-99
P.2.2 3rd & 4th Gear Status (6)
P.2.3 Park/Neutral Status (7)
P.2.4 Ignition Cycles 1-50
P.2.5 PROM Ident. Code (8)
(1) The BARO reading is taken with key on and is corrected at wide open throttle.
(2) Measured in cross counts which are the number of times the voltage crosses the reference voltage of .45 volts.
(3) Normal count position for integrator is "128", indicating engine is operating normally. A count greater than 128 indicates time is being added to the injector pulse width, adding more fuel to the engine. A count less than 128 indicates time is being subtracted from the injector pulse width, reducing the amount of fuel to the engine.
(4) Normal count position is "128" and indicates engine is operating normally. The block learn value is based on integrator learned values. Readings greater than 128 indicate time is being added to the injector pulse width. Readings less than 128 indicate time is being subtracted from the injector pulse width.
(5) "0" equals full extend and "99" equals full retract.
(6) "10" indicates 3rd gear pressure switch is closed. "11" indicates the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches are closed.
(7) "10" indicates the park/neutral switch is closed and "11" indicates the switch is open.
(8) Display shows a 3 digit code identifying the PROM.
