System Selection

  1. After all trouble codes have been displayed (see DISPLAYING TROUBLE CODES  in this article), the "service mode" system can be directed to perform specific system diagnostic tests. Following the trouble code display, the first system available for testing will automatically be displayed. For example: ECM? may now be present on the display.
  2. To select the desired system, (ECM, BCM, IPC, or SIR), advance and stop the DIC display as follows: On NON-CRT equipped vehicles, depressing the FAN DOWN button on the ECC panel will cycle the system selection list. When the desired diagnostic system is displayed, depress FAN UP button on ECC panel and the displayed system will be selected for testing.
  3. On CRTM equipped vehicles, touching the NO key on the CRT monitor panel will cycle the system selection list. When the desired diagnostic system is displayed on the DIC display panel, touch the YES key on the CRT monitor panel and the displayed system will be selected for testing. See Figure .
NOTE: To cancel a system selection and activate a repeat of the system selection process, depress the OFF button on the ECC panel of NON-CRT equipped vehicles. On CRTM equipped vehicles, touch the LEVL key on the CRT monitor panel.
