Heater Element Isolation Test

  1. Disconnect the Heated Seat Control Module connectors C2 and C3.
  2. Measure the resistance between connector C2, terminals A and B. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the resistance is less than one ohm, go to step  4 . If the resistance is not less than one ohm, go to next step.
  3. Check/repair the wires to the Seatback Heater for an open. If the wires are okay, replace the open Seatback Heater. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Measure the resistance between connector C2, terminal A and ground. If the resistance is less than one k/ohms, go to next step. If the resistance is not less than one k/ohms, go to step  6 .
  5. Check/repair the wires to the Seatback Heater for a short to ground. If the wires are okay, replace the shorted Seatback Heater. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  6. Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminals B and C. If the resistance is between 850 and 1150 ohms, go to step  8 . If the resistance is not between 850 and 1150 ohms, go to next step.
  7. Replace the Center Seat Bottom Heater.
  8. Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminal B and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the resistance is less than one k/ohms, go to next step. If the resistance is not less than one k/ohms, go to step  10 .
  9. Replace the Center Seat Bottom Heater.
  10. Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminals A and D. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If the resistance is less than one ohm, go to step  12 . If the resistance is not less than one ohm, go to next step.
  11. Check/repair the wires to the Seat Bottom Heaters for an open. If the wires are okay, replace the open Seatback Heater. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  12. Measure the resistance between connector C3, terminal A and ground. If the resistance is less than one k/ohms, go to next step. If the resistance is not less than one k/ohms, go to step  14 .
  13. Check/repair the wires to the Seat Bottom Heaters for a short to ground. If the wires are okay, replace the shorted Seatback Heater. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  14. Check the Heated Seat Control Module for good terminal contact. If the terminal contact is okay, replace the Heated Seat Control Module.
