Power Lumbar Seats: Notes

To diagnose power lumbar seats, perform indicated test. See POWER LUMBAR SEAT DIAGNOSIS table.

POWER LUMBAR SEAT DIAGNOSIS

Symptom Go To:
Seat Support Functions Inoperative On Left Or Right Seat; Seat Air Pump Inoperative Test No. 1
Seat Air Pump Runs Continuously For More Than 20 Seconds (1)
All Non-Pneumatic Or Pneumatic Functions Inoperative On Both Seats (2)
Pneumatic Functions On Both Seats Inoperative, But Non-Pneumatic Functions Operate (3) Test No. 1
All Pneumatic Functions Inoperative On One Seat Test No. 2
One Or More Pneumatic Functions Inoperative On One Or Both Seats Test No. 3
Only Inflate Or Deflate Function Operates (4) Test No. 4
All Non-Pneumatic Functions Inoperative On Left Seat Test No. 6
All Non-Pneumatic Functions Inoperative On Right Seat Test No. 5
One Or More Non-Pneumatic Functions Inoperative On One Or Both Seats Test No. 7
(1) Check for open or disconnected pneumatic line to seat bladder for inoperative seat functions. If selected bladder does not inflate, also check for air leak in bladder.
(2) Check for open in Orange and Black wires to console seat switch or seat control module. If circuits are okay, replace console seat switch.
(3) Seat air pump motor cannot be heard when a pneumatic support adjustment is attempted.
(4) Seat air pump motor cannot be heard when inoperative pneumatic support adjustment is attempted.
