Test No. 4, Lumbar Control Input Test

  1. Disconnect seat control module connector. With suspect seat selected, depress and hold middle lumbar switch in inflate position. Using voltmeter, check voltage between seat control module harness terminal "D" (White wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for poor connection or open in White wire between console seat switch and seat control module. Check for poor connections at console seat switch. If circuit and connections are okay, replace console seat switch.
  2. Depress and hold middle lumbar switch in Deflate position. Check voltage between seat control module harness terminal "H" (Gray wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for poor connection or open in Gray wire between console seat switch and seat control module. Check for poor connections at console seat switch. If circuit and connections are okay, replace console seat switch.
  3. Disconnect seat air pump assembly connector. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between seat air pump assembly harness terminal "A" (Pink wire) and ground. If resistance is not 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink wire between seat control module and seat air pump assembly.
  4. Check resistance between seat air pump assembly harness terminal "B" (Orange wire) and ground. If resistance is not 5 ohms or less, check for poor connections at seat control module. If connections are okay, replace seat control module. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Orange wire between seat control module and seat air pump assembly.
