If THEFT SYSTEM indicator still stays on, after BFC has been replaced and engine starts; reprogram Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to relearn Theft Deterrent System Password. See PASSWORD LEARN PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. If THEFT SYSTEM indicator still flashes and no DTCs are set, replace and reprogram Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
