Automatic Locking Feature Does Not Operate

  1. Disconnect multifunction alarm module connector C1. Module is located behind left side of instrument panel, near steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Unlock door locks. Connect jumper wire between alarm module connector C1, terminal "P" (Light Blue wire) and voltage. If power door locks operate when jumper is connected, go to next step. If power door locks do not operate when jumper is connected, repair open circuit in Light Blue wire.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Position gear selector lever in Park position. Measure voltage between connector C1, terminal "J", (Orange/Black wire) and voltage. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check Orange/Black and Black/White wires for an open circuit. If wiring is okay, replace park/neutral position switch.
  3. Repeat step 2) with gear selector in Drive. If battery voltage is not present, replace multifunction alarm module. If battery voltage is present, check Orange/Black wire for a short to ground. If wire is okay, check park/neutral position switch adjustment. If adjustment is okay, replace switch.
