RFA Programming

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora and 1998 Buick Riviera. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Program transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  . Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select vehicle being programmed. Select Body. Select RFA. Select RFA test. Select Set Options. Select option 0.
  2. Scroll through screens until desired function is displayed. Select each function that needs to be enabled for vehicle application. See RPO OPTIONS FOR KEYLESS ENTRY REPROGRAMMING  table.
  3. Use table to select functions that are standard or optional for particular vehicle being serviced.
  4. When selecting functions on a new RFA module on a vehicle that has theft deterrent (UA6), Option 3 must be selected. FACTORY USE ONLY SPEED UP will appear as the only selection. Select NO, then EXIT. If this function is not reset, 30 second theft lamp illumination will be reduced to 2 seconds. Misdiagnosis of theft deterrent system may occur.
  5. Exit system. Disconnect scan tool.
