Removal & Installation: Notes

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION section before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: When PASSLOCK(R) lock cylinder, Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) or PCM are replaced, vehicle will go through a tamper mode. Vehicle may start and stall for 10 minutes. If this occurs, vehicle must go through a LONG TAMPER MODE cycle to allow the IPC and PCM to complete a learn cycle. Theft warning light should flash for 10 minutes. Ignition switch MUST remain in RUN position until theft warning light stops flashing, or cycle will have to be repeated. See procedures in PASSWORD LEARN PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING. Clear all IPC DTCs.
