Cruise Indicator Lights Continuously With No Loss Of Serial Data

  1. Using scan tool, monitor PCM. If PCM is commanding CRUISE indicator ON, go to appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. If PCM is commanding CRUISE indicator OFF, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, monitor BFC SPI serial data link. If BFC is commanding CRUISE indicator ON, replace BFC. See procedures in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . If BFC is commanding CRUISE indicator OFF and indicator is illuminated, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL article.
