DTC U2003: Transmitted SPI Data Input High: Testing

  1. If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has not been performed, go toBODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Disconnect IPC Gray 24-pin connector. Disconnect BFC Gray 24-pin connector C2. Using DVOM, measure voltage between BFC connector C2 terminal B7 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. See Figure . If zero volts exists, go to next step. If greater than zero volts exists, go to step  4 .
  3. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Light Blue/Black wire between IPC connector terminal A2 and BFC connector C2 terminal B7. If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to step  5 . If resistance is not 0-2 ohms, go to step  13
  4. Repair short to voltage in Light Blue/Black wire between BFC and IPC. After repairs, go to step  12 .
  5. Reconnect BFC connector C2. Connect a fused jumper wire between IPC connector terminal A2 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, read SPI data input feedback. If SPI data input is LOW, go to step  9 . If SPI data input is not LOW, go to next step.
  6. Check for a poor connection at BFC connector C2 terminal B7 (Light Blue/Black wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step  8 .
  7. Repair poor connection at BFC connector C2 terminal B7 (Light Blue/Black wire). After repairs, go to step  12 .
  8. Replace BFC. See BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step  12 .
  9. Check for a poor connection at IPC connector terminal A2 (Light Blue/Black wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step  11 .
  10. Repair poor connection at IPC connector terminal A2 (Light Blue/Black wire). After repairs, go to step  12 .
  11. Replace IPC. See appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article. After repairs, go to next step.
  12. Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Clear DTCs. Perform BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  13. Repair open in Light Blue/Black wire between BFC connector C2 and IPC. After repairs, go to BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
