DTC B2417: DRL Control Module Circuit (Shorted To Ground Or Open): Description

BCM interfaces with Daytime Running Light (DRL) control module to allow BCM to determine current ambient light operation mode. BCM uses Class 2 serial data line to communicate this information to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), energizing headlights for twilight sentinel feature.

DTC will set when BCM detects a short to ground or open in circuit No. 1970 (Pink/White wire). No driver warning message will be displayed. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles.
