Adding Keys

NOTE: A VATS/PASS-Key(R) interrogator (J-35628-A) and terminal adapters are required for this procedure. When servicing PASS-Key(R) II system, obtain all vehicle ignition keys. Verify key code values with VATS/PASS-Key(R) interrogator (J-35628-A).
  1. In order to copy a PASS-Key(R) II ignition key, determine necessary key code or resistance value.
  2. Determine master ignition key code using VATS/PASS-Key(R) interrogator (J-35628-A) as outlined in this following procedure:
    • Turn VATS/PASS-Key(R) interrogator (J-35628-A) on.
    • Insert key into tool lock cylinder.
    • Note measured key code of master ignition key as displayed on key code reader.
    • Obtain a key blank matching key code.
    • Cut key blank to match original key.
