DTC B1000: Control Module Malfunction: Description
Control module fault detection is handled internally. No external circuits are involved. Control module runs an internal fault detection program when power up is commanded. Only voltage and ground are required. DTC B1000 will set if control module detects an internal memory (write error or checksum) malfunction. Control module refuses all additional inputs.
Current DTC B1000 will clear when control module makes a successful write to EEPROM and checksum maneuver. A history DTC B1000 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if condition for malfunction no longer exists. Scan tool can also be used to clear DTC.
