Poor Fuel Economy: Sensor/System
- Check for an Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor shifted in value. See TEMPERATURE VS RESISTANCE table.
- Check for proper operation of the Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) manual valve switch. See appropriate DIAGNOSIS article in TRANSMISSIONS.
- Check the throttle body, Throttle Position (TP) sensor, and accelerator cables for proper operation.
- Check the Knock System (KS) for excessive spark retard.
