Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2005 Isuzu Ascender, 2005 GMC Envoy XUV, 2005 GMC Envoy XL, 2005 GMC Envoy, and 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove any dirt, grease, or other impurities from the mounting surface.

  3. Position the sensor assembly horizontally above the front bumper.
  4. Connect the sensor (2) electrical connector.
  5. Install the connector-position assurance (CPA) to the sensor electrical connector.
  6. Install the retaining bolts and protective cover (1) to the sensor.

  8. Position the sensor assembly horizontally to the frame (1).
  9. Point the arrow on the sensor toward the front of the vehicle.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  11. Install the 2 bolts (1) retaining the discriminating sensor assembly to the frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  13. Position the headlamp wire harness (1) to the retaining clip.

  15. Install and secure the headlamp wire harness in the retaining clip (1).
  16. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Envoy, Envoy XUV) or Grille Replacement (TrailBlazer) or Grille Replacement (Rainier) in Exterior Trim.
  17. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 1 .
