Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 .

  3. Remove the passenger side instrument panel (I/P) access panel.

  5. Remove the passenger air duct extension screw (1).

  7. Remove the air duct extension from the front of the I/P.

  9. Open the I/P compartment door to a full down position.
  10. Remove the 2 lower passenger supplemental inflatable restraint (PSIR) inflator module retaining bolts (1).

  12. Remove the 2 side retaining nuts from the PSIR inflator module.

  14. Remove the PSIR inflator module from the front of the I/P carrier.
  15. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
