Check or adjust ignition timing with engine at normal operating temperature. Disconnect and plug vacuum advance/retard hoses. Timing is set correctly when timing mark (steel ball) on crankshaft pulley (flywheel) is aligned with timing pointer. See Figure. To adjust, loosen distributor hold-down bolt and rotate distributor.
