Disassembly & Reassembly

4-135 & 4-153 ENGINES

1. Remove rotor from shaft and disconnect pickup electrical connector if necessary.
2. Remove Hall Effect pickup retaining screws or clips and the pickup.
3. Remove distributor drive gear roll pin and the drive gear.
4. Remove drive gear thrust washer and distributor shaft.
5. Remove distributor-to-block seal.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate distributor housing bushings with clean engine oil prior to installing engine seal onto distributor housing.
b. Ensure pickup lead wire is properly engaged in retaining slot.
c. Ensure rotor is fully seated when pressing rotor onto shaft.
