Spark Control Computer
The Spark Control Computer (SCC) is located on the air cleaner assembly. It gives the system the capability of igniting a lean air/fuel mixture according to different modes of engine operation by delivering an infinitely variable advance curve. The computer determines optimum ignition advance.
The SCC signals the ignition coil to produce the voltage required for ignition purposes. The voltage produced is based on the demands of air/fuel ratio, air and coolant temperature, load and RPM. The computer consists of one electronic printed circuit board which receives signals from all the sensors and computes the appropriate ignition advance. Computer reaction time is measured in milliseconds.
