Computer Controlled Spark Advance Test

  1. Warm vehicle engine to normal operating temperature. Place a thin piece of insulating material between curb idle adjusting screw and carb switch (ensure no contact is being made).
  2. Remove and plug vacuum line at vacuum transducer. Connect auxiliary vacuum supply to vacuum transducer and set vacuum at 16 in. Hg. Increase engine speed to 2000 RPM, wait one minute and compare timing advance against specifications. If correct advance cannot be obtained, replace SCC computer.
