Engine Controls - Tests W/Codes - Body Control Computer: Description
The body control computer system consists of a combination of modules that communicate over the Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus system. Through the CCD bus, information related to the operation of vehicle components and circuits is relayed to the appropriate system module(s). Each module receives the same component information. This reduces the complexity of vehicle wiring and size of wiring harness.
The following body control computer systems are covered in this article: electronic instrument cluster, electro/mechanical instrument cluster, automatic door locks, compass/mini-trip module, illuminated entry, headlights, and intermittent wipers. System failures within these systems can be diagnosed via the CCD bus diagnostic connector using Chrysler Diagnostic Readout Box II (DRB-II) tester.
