Test 12A - No Termination On Bus

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect body controller Blue connector. Body controller is located under left side of instrument panel. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 7 and 20 at body controller. If resistance is not 100-140 ohms, replace body controller and go to next step. If resistance is 100-140 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Check resistance at Violet/Brown wire between terminal No. 7 of body controller Blue connector and terminal No. 1 at CCD bus diagnostic connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire and go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Check resistance of White/Black wire between terminal No. 20 of body controller Blue connector and terminal No. 6 at CCD bus diagnostic connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire to Violet/Brown wire and go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) connector. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 26 and 46 at SBEC. If resistance is not 100-140 ohms, replace SBEC and go to next step. If resistance is 100-140 ohms, go to next step.
  6. Check resistance at Violet/Brown wire between terminal No. 1 at CCD bus diagnostic connector and terminal No. 26 at SBEC connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire and go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  7. Check resistance at White/Black wire between terminal No. 6 at CCD bus diagnostic connector and terminal No. 20 at body controller Blue connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire and go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  8. Test DRB-II. Refer to TEST 5A . Replace DRB-II and/or adapter cable as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST . If DRB-II is good, perform TEST 20A .
