Test 14A - Bus Bias Level Too High On Bus

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position with engine off. Disconnect DRB-II. Using an external voltmeter, check voltage at terminal No. 1 (Violet/Brown wire) of CCD bus diagnostic connector. If voltage is not 2.1-2.7 volts, go to step 3).
  2. If voltage is 2.1-2.7 volts, check voltage at terminal No. 6 (White/Black wire) at CCD bus diagnostic connector. If voltage is not 2.1-2.7 volts, perform TEST 14B . If voltage is 2.1-2.7 volts, test DRB-II. Perform TEST 5A . Perform VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. If voltage at Violet/Brown wire is not 2.1-2.7 volts in step 1), turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect body controller Blue connector. Body controller is located under left side of instrument panel. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  4. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 7 and 20 at body controller. If resistance is not 100-140 ohms, replace body controller. Perform VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is 100-140 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Check resistance at Violet/Brown wire between terminal No. 1 at CCD bus diagnostic connector and terminal No. 7 at body controller connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  6. Disconnect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) connector. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Check resistance between terminals No. 26 and 46 of SBEC. If resistance is not 100-140 ohms, replace SBEC. Perform VERIFICATION TEST .
  7. If resistance is 100-140 ohms, check resistance at Violet/Brown wire between terminal No. 1 at CCD bus diagnostic connector and terminal No. 26 at SBEC connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, perform TEST 20A . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST .
